Finally!
Things are moving again.
Or at least, that's what I'm hoping as I write this post.
If you've been following my recent updates, you'll know that I've spent quite a bit of time talking about delays, unfinished jobs, unanswered messages, and the occasional frustration of trying to move my dream house project forward.
So today, I want to focus on something much more positive. Today, I want to introduce you to another one of my wonderful partners in Aegina.
Meet Mr. Grigoris. Or as I like to think of him, the Iron Man of Aegina.
I honestly believe this man can build just about anything out of iron.
Need a gate? No problem.
A fence? Easy.
A structure? He'll figure it out.
Give him a challenge and somehow he will turn a pile of metal into exactly what you had imagined.
But what impresses me even more than his skills is something much simpler.
He is always smiling.
From the first moment I met him, I could see the kindness on his face. There are some people who immediately make you feel comfortable, and Mr. Grigoris is one of them.
During this whole house project, that kindness has meant a lot to me.
As many of you know by now, I am the kind of person who constantly worries about budgets, costs, payments, and making sure everything gets paid on time. I like things to be organised and I take my commitments seriously.
More than once, when expenses were piling up, Mr. Grigoris would simply say:
"Take care of your family first. You can pay me next month."
Now, anyone who knows me understands what happens when someone says something like that. You make sure you pay them even faster. Because trust creates trust. Respect creates respect. And people who genuinely care are impossible to forget.
This time, Mr. Grigoris built something that may not sound particularly exciting to most people.
A storage area. I know. Not exactly the most glamorous update in the world! But I have a feeling that many women reading this will understand my excitement. Living in a village house means there is always something that needs to be stored somewhere.
Garden tools. Outdoor cushions. Watering equipment. Children's toys. Extra supplies.
All those things that somehow end up scattered around the garden because you haven't yet found the perfect place for them.
For months, I felt like I was constantly moving things from one corner to another, trying to keep the house looking peaceful and organised.
And now?
We finally have a proper storage space.
A place for all those items that were previously wandering around the garden looking for a home.
It may seem like a small improvement. But sometimes the smallest projects make the biggest difference in everyday life. The garden feels tidier. The house feels calmer.
And once again, it feels like we're moving one step closer to the dream I've been building for so long.
So, a big thank you to Mr. Grigoris. Not just for building a storage area. But for helping me move the dream forward again.
Because when you've been stuck for a while, even a small step forward feels like a giant leap.
And this week, for the first time in a while, it feels like we're back on track. One iron structure, one smile, and one act of kindness at a time. ❤️
