People often ask me what I have learned from this journey of building my dream summer house in Aegina.

If I had to choose just one word, it would be this: Commitment.

Of course, the ideal scenario would be to be smart enough, rich enough, and lucky enough to make all your dreams come true quickly.

No stress. No anxiety. No difficult decisions. No second thoughts.

Just imagine it, fund it, build it, and enjoy it. But let's be honest. For most of us, that isn't how life works. The real world is different. The real world requires patience. It requires sacrifices. And above all, it requires commitment.

Most people have dreams. Some dream of a home by the sea. Others dream of traveling the world, starting a business, changing careers, or creating something meaningful for their family. The dream itself is important. But dreams remain dreams until the day we decide to commit to them. Because the moment you commit, something changes. The dream stops being a wish and starts becoming your reality. You begin to dedicate your time, energy, money, attention, and passion to it.

Step by step.

Decision by decision.

Day by day.

That doesn't mean it becomes easy. Believe me, there are plenty of moments when I look at the remaining loan I still have to pay back to the bank. Moments when I look at the long list of things I still want to improve in the house. The garden. The outdoor spaces. The guest experience. The small details that I believe can make someone's stay even more memorable. Sometimes the list feels endless. And yet, every time I think about stopping, I remember the commitment I made.

A commitment to myself.

A commitment to my family.

A commitment to creating something that reflects who I am and what I value.

And somehow, that commitment always gives me new energy. When progress feels slow, I tell myself:

"Just one more thing." One more improvement. One more project completed. One more booking. One more guest who chooses our house for their holiday. One more positive review. One more smile. One more family creating memories here.

And suddenly I feel myself moving forward again.

Perhaps not as quickly as I would like. But certainly faster than if I had never started. Because every small step matters. Every improvement matters. Every guest matters. Every lesson matters. And when I look back at where this journey started, I realize that this house wasn't built in a single moment. It was built through hundreds of small decisions. Hundreds of moments when I chose to continue. When I chose commitment over convenience. When I chose progress over perfection. The dream house is not finished yet. In many ways, I hope it never fully is. Because every season brings new ideas. New inspirations. New possibilities.

But today, I know something I didn't fully understand when I began. Dreams are not achieved because we are lucky. They are achieved because we stay committed long enough to give them a chance.

And so I'll continue.

One step.

One improvement.

One season at a time.

Getting closer and closer to the dream house I imagined.

And enjoying the journey along the way.
