Back in 2023, after more than eight months of waiting for the building license, the moment finally arrived. I had been anticipating that call for weeks—the one that would send me rushing to Aegina to witness the very first dig for my summer house. When the phone rang, I booked my ticket immediately. It was time to dream again.

Close to my house stands a tiny church, humble and serene, that opens only once a year for the Archangel’s feast day. On November 8th, 2023, as the island celebrated this special day, I received the official green light to start building the home I had long wished for. Maybe you’re religious, maybe not—but for me, it felt like a sign. A quiet blessing.

I spent hours watching the machines break ground, feeling pure satisfaction as the dream began to take shape. But… there’s always a ā€œbutā€ in my stories.
